In a good way that is.
In regard to legalists, he just cant be bothered dealing with them anymore.
"The problem with legalists is that not enough people have confronted them and told them to get lost. Those are strong words, but I don't mess with legalism anymore. I'm 72 years old; what have I got to lose? Seriously, I used to kowtow to legalists, but they're dangerous. They are grace-killers. They'll drive off every new Christian you bring to church. They are enemies of the faith. Other than that, I don't have any opinion!"

Oh my son my son! If only I could have died in your place. I literally read
these words in the Bible just over a week ago as David wept for his son
Absalom...

That's good. Maybe we could find a place to put them all and let them legalise each other.

The line between legalism and lawlessness is a fine one. i find it hard to go from one only to swerve into the other.
I've lost count of the amount of legalists I've met...both young and old Christians alike. I've been told that I need to have a quiet time every day (and in the morning), observe the Saturday Sabbath, speak in tongues, not drink, not go on holidays....the list goes on. Thank God he sent Jesus eh?
