Mainwaring dies

Sad news this morning with Chris Mainwaring passing away. A East Freo boy originally, who became a champion with the West Coast Eagles.
Sad that he leaves behind two children.

News reports being very respectful and not reporting the whole story of his passing. Police were called to his residence with a noise complaint, and 94.5 are reporting it was a drug overdose.
Very sad news, RIP Chris Mainwaring.

Too young to die. Remembering Chris as a great sportsman and champion who helped lay the foundation of the WCE football club - to go forth and become a great force to be reckoned with within the AFL. RIP Mainy. We will miss you. Sympathy to Rani and children in your time of grief. WCE footy fan of Mandurah

I only just heard this arvo and initially thought it was joke or the person who told me had misheard before I saw it on the news tonight.
Very very sad.
BTW your new template looks great. Very 'coffee' like :)

Very sad news.. But I think we need to look at the big picture here and do something about the consumption of illegal drugs in our sportsmen and women!!

This is too soon for such a healthy looking and positive man. I created a memory page for him at http://www.respectance.com/ChrisMainwaring
Please leave your wishes there. And let's remember the good times he gave us and not only the sad cause of his death.

exceptionally sad event. there's not really a lot one can say. i didn't know the guy but i know i loved watching him play. the game that sticks most in my mind was 20 years ago when the weagles took on the reigning premiers, hawthorn, at (presumably) glenferrie oval and mainy got the job of playing on dipper, who had won the brownlow the season before. mainy beat him to lead the weagles to a huge upset victory.

he's gonna be very missed
